Academic Background
Dr. Champion graduated in medicine in 2001 from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX, followed by an internship in general surgery from 2001 to 2002. She went on to complete her Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency from the same university from 2002 to 2007.
Towards the end of her residency, she also completed an externship in aesthetic surgery with Dr. James M. Stuzin, Miami, FL. She followed it up with another externship in Microsurgery and Cancer Reconstruction from the leading M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.
Teaching Experience
From July to December 1998, Dr. Champion worked as a Medical Student Tutor at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, and tutored in the area of Gross Anatomy and Neuroscience. She followed it with another year of teaching as an AIDS Awareness Mentor for Galveston High School Students.
At her private practice, Dr. Champion likes to use her teaching experience and educates her patients about all aspects of a plastic surgery procedure. Her goal is to help her patients make well-considered decisions.
